     Jemar Michael was born and raised in Saint Paul, MN by his single mother Jenna. Growing up with two other sisters and a passion for the arts, Jemar graduated from Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists where he solidified his passion for acting. After graduating a year early in 2009, he then was accepted into the California Institute of the Arts Acting Program in 2010, which holds prestigious alumni such as Don Cheadle, Allison Brie, and Cecily Strong. Once his Cal Arts journey came to an end, Jemar moved back home to Minnesota where he booked his first movie, Dear White People. After major success at Sundance Film Festival, Justin Simien's Dear White People got a national release which allowed Jemar to move his life to Los Angeles where he has been taking class and winning the rooms of major casting directors and producers.
